Gosh...a very huge and gigantic WOW moment!!! This story kept me thinking about the Bible story of 'Samson and Delilah'. While that story was one of betrayal, Joshua and Cressida's was more of a claiming and a lesson of enduring love. I still don't know where to start. It's like the entire book is being played out like a 'Reality Movie' in my head, with me constantly hitting the 'replay' button.This was a well written story, filled with so much angst, drama, deceit, love, hope, remorse and so much sadness, that you can't help being touched and moved by this story. This was quite an emotional conundrum for me, but one that was so touching and moved me beyond words. Such phenomenal characters and the author was able to sink in my psyche on more than one level.The gist of the story is that Cressida's dad was facing a life sentence for something he did not do. Cressida knew for a fact that her dad is innocent, but was lacking the proof to confirm his innocence. So she assessed the entire situation and saw that the only way to get him off was with the help of Joshua, the enemy. Now she only had one thing that a man like Joshua would value (nope, I will not be revealing any secrets) and she did not hesitate to use it. The only problem is, neither of them knew their own strengths and fell into the trap of their own making.I loved loved Karin. She is beyond fierce and she is not allowing age to slow her down...no huh. It would be so awesome to have a grandmother like her. I wonder if she would adopt me....hmmm? Wyatt is a definitely a man beyond words, a best friend and a lawyer you would definitely want in your corner.
